On May 15, little Brielle Justine Fawcett arrived. Her parents are Jess and Jasmine Fawcett, and her grandparents are Jim and Becky Fawcett. She weighed 6 lbs.5 oz. What a beautiful little girl. (Check out Becky's Facebook page for more info.)

'Starting a new blog.

Last week we went to St.George to Earl Bladh's funeral. There is nothing like a friends funeral to make you realize that you will not live forever. Since then I have been feeling that I should do something more than I am right now. Some of you realize that I have been worried about what would happen to all my genealogy records when I go but I realize that I have many original records and have done a lot of searching with success but no one knows how or what I have found. It would be a shame for any of you to want to continue with my records and have no idea of what I have done or where I found it.

My answer to this is to start a blog about what I have done, where I found things, and what I have that has brought me to where I am today. I want someone to be able to pick up where I left off and be able to continue on without trying to redo everything. Also I remember a lot of things that will be gone when I go.

So I am going to start a new blog about the things that I have learned, what I remembered and where these things can be found. I have felt a sense of urgency about this as it will probably take me quite a while to do it. If you are not interested that is fine, but I believe someone (maybe one of the babies yet to be born) will want to take the stories and along with the blog will be able to keep it going. Also, for all you that want to have my records, I will not have to pick and choose who to give them to. My database is ongoing so all you will need to get is my Roots Magic backup.

This is a big project and I only am doing this because I love you all.

Two new babies.

Since last I posted we have had two new babies. I think we have the cutest babies in our family. Not only are they the cutest but also the best dressed if their showers have anything to do with it. It almost seems impossible that we have this many little ones. I remember when we had all of our grandchildren and now they are all grown and most are grandparents. Grandpa and I are still hanging in there. We try to get to as many activities as we can. Grandpa is the Executive Secretary to the Bishop so he has the hardest time on Sundays but I just tell him he has to be available because not everyone has a Great Grandpa to stand in the circles. This has been an interesting month for Family History. The church has been doing some unbelievable things. It is hard for me to keep up. I have to learn new things all the time. The newest thing is Twitter. Did you know that the church encourages it's members to follow some of the experts in the Genealogy field on Twitter. The church also has a page on Facebook. I put out the Newsletter for our Family History Center and it takes all my brain power to keep up with everything.

I can't believe it is the middle of July. I have not posted little Caiden Lee yet. He is such a cute little boy. Went to Stephanie's shower last Saturday. She only has a short time left, then on Facebook I was reading Yolanda's comments and she also only has a few more weeks to go. I think it will be nip-n-tuck with the two of them.

I have to give a talk this Sunday and while doing some research for that I foung this account of my gg grandfather, William Tannahill (you all have the story) but in the account it tells of another July many years ago. "Amid all the horrors of the prison, I never heard a company "B" man utter a word that denoted failing courage. Hope inspired each of them. July fouth, 1862, will never be forgotten by those living who were there in Camp Oglethorpe that day. The boys grouped together and sang the Star Spangled Banner and America. They eintered into the spirit of the glorious day. They were in bondage but the spirit of freemen burned within them." Andy Felt wrote this about their experiences in 1906 as he remembered it. I thought it might be appropriate during this July to let you know of the experience.

We had a new baby born on May 24. Little Paxton Scott Harrison born to Marc and Heather Harrison. What a cutie. He is our 54th. Then we had Elise' Seminary Graduation this last weekend. It is hard to believe that she is graduating from Yucaipa High School already. The night before we went to a BBQ for all the Seminary Graduates and their families. Wayne was doing the BBQing. He was standing without the walker. I think I heard him say that he was going back to work sometime this week. We got some pictures of Elder Spencer's Church bldg. He lives in the same bldg. It is kind of a nice set up. I am trying to add the pictures to this post but it is not working so I will add them seperately.

Tomorrow is Mother's Day. I can't believe it is May already. Today I went to Yolanda's shower. It was so nice and she received so many little dresses. That baby will never be able to wear them out. Wayne is doing as well as can be expected. He is hurting but Terry is going to up his Meds so he should do better. Tonight is Elise's Sr. Prom. I am so glad that she is able to go. She has to be very careful and not do anything strenuous, however. Life just seems to go on. Have a happy day.

Time is passing

I am having a hard time keeping up with the year. I can't believe it's almost Grandpa's birthday and tax day. We've been busy since I last posted. Tenille and Remington's wedding was beautiful, Aunt Kathy took me to the Genealogy Conference in St. George for my birthday. That was so much fun. Grandpa's brother, Jack Harrison died and we went to the funeral in Bountiful. That was a nice funeral. He was buried in the same cemetery with Perigrine Sessions and Sarah Crossley. We saw all of Uncle Jack's family who we hadn't seen in many years. Went to Heather's shower, had a baptism (Bryce Hunt) and a birthday party at Aunt Kathy's for little Addie Foster, General Conference and Easter, and now we are wondering what is coming next. It is about time for the babies to start being born. One of the good things about all of these activities is that I get to see so many of you and enjoy you all so much.

Happy Valentines Day, dear family. This has been a busy month. I can't believe it is already Valentines Day. We have a wedding coming up. Tenille and Remington. Aunt Kathy and I are going to the Genealogy Family Expo in St. George the last weekend of the month. That will be a really nice weekend. Hope my body can endure 2 days of continual classes. I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks to all of you who sent birthday messages on Facebook. It was most fun to hear from you all. On Sun. Jan. 17 we had a short party in our backyard. I say short because the rain came in just after 4pm. I never saw so many people scatter and within minutes you could not tell that anyone had been there. Uncle Wayne said it was all about motivation. If you would like to see a short video of the party go to Buddy's Blog. He also has a video of Kyles party in the mountains also. This is a full month of birthdays. It is almost as bad as March. As you can see we had our Christmas Party last Mon. night. It was so nice to see everyone. We did not have as big a crowd as in years past but we had a really good time. We did not have the gift exchange but the games all had prizes, and we enjoyed the videos. The nativity was so cute. Those little shepherds that were supposed to be "abiding in the fields" just went all over "abiding" in all the corners and crevices. We were looking at some of the old pictures of nativities past and someone said it looked like some of the costumes were the same ones their parents had worn many years ago. I sometimes wonder how many more years we will be able to get together, we are getting so big. We love all of you and miss you. I think you will see more pictures popping up on Facebook so don't miss that. Since last time I posted Trevor and Roxanne had a new little girl, Lila Rachelle. She is so cute.

Christmas is coming!!!

It has been a month since I posted anything on this blog. I can't believe time has gone by so fast. We spent the weekend before Thanksgiving in Utah. We stayed with Chris and Mikelle and their little family. It was so nice to see them. I had not really visited with them..really not ever!! In case some of you don't know Chris is now a real Pediatrician. He is working in 4 hospitals, Orem, Provo, American Fork and ???(I can't remember the other one). He took us to see his office. The problem is that I can't think of him as a doctor. He will forever be my little Chris. That's what happens with Grandma's. We went to church with Becky and then went to her house for lunch. Everything was so good (even without salt) and her grandchildren were wonderful. They acted as if we were always a part of their life, not a shy bone in their little bodies. We loved it. Devin and Mark and Heather came to church and went to Becky's also. It was good to see them. We visited with Aunt Ruthie and Uncle Les, and then went to see Uncle Jack and Aunt Millie Ruth. Uncle Jack looked way good. The way we travel we wonder if we will be back for a while. Thank you so much, Kathy and Rick for taking us. I wish we had more time to do more visiting and go up and see Wendy in her new little cafe. We had a new baby born this in Nov. That was Todd and Stephanies new little boy, Trent. His pictures on Facebook are so cute. This month Trevor and Roxanne will have thier baby.

Spencer is in the MTC

Wayne and Terrie just got home from taking Spencer to the MTC. Wayne said it was very easy. They just dropped him off at the door and when the door closed he was gone. I don't know if it was that easy for Terrie. I remember the doors closing too but I cried just as hard. Here is part of an email we received today.
"This is his MTC address, but you can also write him at dearelder.com and it is as easy as an email letter. (just write and click a button, it will be printed out for him and delivered, free postage). His address reflect the day he will be leaving the MTC for Nicaragua- Dec. 27, so he will be spending his first Christmas in the MTC. He won't be able to call home this Christmas (but I think he will be calling from the airport on the 27th.)"

So much has happened since last month. Our sweet little Mckenna Shay Fawcett (51st ggchild) was born to Jess and Jasmine Fawcett. She is a darling little girl. Our new missionary, Elder Spencer Harrison, will be leaving soon for the Nicaragua Managua Mission, (I remember a long time ago a singer named Carmen Miranda singing a song about Managua, Nicaragua and what a wonderful place it was). I hope it is still a wonderful place. He will be speaking in Yucaipa 4th ward on October 18th at 9:00 at the Calimesa building. He will enter the MTC on October 28. He will be spending Halloween learning the Spanish language. Also this next weekend Mason and Sadie Tucker will be baptised.

Last week I did not have internet access because the signal tower was burned up in the Pendleton fire. I can't believe how dependent I have become on this internet thing. I even had to resort to calling West on the phone for his birthday. That is the old way.
Last week Tristen had her little girl, Penelope. She is the cutest. If you would like to see some of her pictures go to Ken and Tristen's blog and check her out. It makes me hungry to hold her. Also, a coupld of weeks ago, we went to a party at Wayne's house to meet a lovely girl named Summer who he had asked to marry him the night before. Family Update

It has been a while since I've updated. It has been a busy summer for everyone. Last night we went to a special family night at Wayne's house. We met a lovely girl named Summer (I never got the last name). After a few minutes, Devin came over to tell us that he had just asked Summer to be his wife the night before. Everyone was thrilled and excited. I knew the minute I met her that she would fit in the family just fine. The wedding will be on Nov. 21 in the Salt Lake Temple but there will be a party here also. What an exciting time!!!

For a while now I have not been able to get into my layout and change things. I reset the password and user name and I seem to be back in business. Because of this I have missed posting all the many things that have happened recently. Kevin got home! Kyle became an eagle! Wendy moved to Idaho! Go into Wendy's and Buddy's blogs to find out more about these events. Kathy and family are having a Family reunion in Escalante, Utah this week. In case some of you haven't gotten the word, some of Grandma Stones family in Utah are trying to get together this Aug.4 for a "Those who love Lola" reunion at Randy and Rita's Backyard at 788E. Grandpa and I are hanging in there. Grandpa cancelled his toe operation because the cardiologist said it was risky to have that anesthetic. My Shoulder is fine but the other one has a torn rotar cuff. If it isn't one thing it is another. I am glad to be back and able to post again. Love you all.

Father's Day

It has been so long since I updated this blog. I have spent the last two months getting back to normal after surgery. It takes so much longer to do things but I am on the way. I now have another shoulder that is giving me problems but hopefully no surgery!!!!
Last Sunday afternoon we had some of our family come over and we sat in the back yard and had a nice visit. Becky was down for the Fawcett reunion and it was so good to see her. West was with her and I can't believe what a big kid he is. Last week Dylan graduated from High School. It really is not possible but that is what happened. We went to Sam's for a BBQ. It was so nice to see all of Wendy's family again. Wendy left for Idaho the next day and will be there for the next year or so. This weekend will be a busy one. Kevin comes home on Friday, Kyle gets his Eagle on Sat., and Kevin gives his homecoming on Sunday. I hope Grandpa and I can keep up with it all. I will try to do better in the future. Love you all.

It has been a couple of weeks since I put anything on this blog. Since then I have been progressing with my shoulder. I go to Physical Therapy twice a week. It hurts! but I notice that I have more range of motion. The pain that used to be all in my back and shoulder is gone. It had started to go up my neck into the back of my head and that is gone. Now if I could find somewhere to get some Celebrex I would soon be back to normal. That is really good stuff. I have driven the car twice now. I have really been stuck at home. Last weekend, Taani's little West was blessed and this weekend Britton's little Paige will be blessed. Janelle graduated from BYU last week. It sounds like the Harrison family is progressing quite nicely. We had a get together in the backyard for Dad's birthday. That is his most favorite thing to do and mine too. Love you all. I haven't been doing much blogging but wanted to wish all of you a happy Easter. We were at Wayne and Terrie's last night for Easter dinner because everyone had to go to in-laws families so they had their Easter dinner and egg hunt on Sat. night. Then I found out that the Fosters were doing the same thing. Is this a new trend?
My arm is getting better. I am going to Physical Therapy twice a week now. There are many things I cannot do yet but it won't be long. I am very glad I had the procedure done. I just learned that Britton had her baby girl. If you want to see pictures go to her blog. She said it was the easiest birth she ever had. I never had one of those. Love you all, Grandma

What a weekend

Last Friday we went to the San Diego Temple to see Marc and Heather get married. It was a beautiful ceremony and we were so impressed with the sealer's talk before the sealing. Then we went to Buddy and Debi's for lunch. I could have stayed and visited all the rest of the day but everyone needed to get home to the reception. Grandpa and I didn't go the rest of the way. I was hurting and so was Grandpa so we crashed. It wasn't till Saturday that I was able to take some Celebrex and it was wonderful. I didn't hurt any more but I only have it for 3 days then "S" day (Surgery) That is tomorrow. Yesterday we went to church and just as Sacrament was over this little family came up and lo and behold it was Les and Nora David and their daughter Doradean. Some of the old timers will remember them. They left Yucaipa 30 years ago but were our dear friends when we moved here. We chased down everyone we could think of that they might still know but they were the most thrilled to see Craig Tolman and he was so thrilled to see them. Nora had grown up in the Tolman home and all Tolmans were her family. She and Les have been living on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. It was just the greatest day.

I got my surgery date

I will be going into St. Bernardine Hosp. on Tues. March 24. Will be there 3 days. All of a sudden it is here. I spent all day today getting a blood test, EKG, chest xray and had my Pre-op. I am super tired tonight. Last Saturday, Kyle helped me get signed up on Facebook but I don't know how that is going to work out. I really don't have a lot of time to spend on it. Hope no one gets offended if I don't write them all the time. You all know how often I get this blog updated. Love you all. Grandma

Spring is almost here

I can't believe it is March. The almond tree has some little green leaves coming. Next weekend we go on daylight saving time. It is very exciting. I have not yet got a date for surgery. The insurance co. is a little screwed up. They have Dad and I mixed up. Next week we are having Stake Conference. We are having a general authority. They have been hooking up all three buildings in the Stake so that everyone can go to their own building and see Stake Conference. We will be the main building and everything that is taking place will be sent to the other buildings. I got the chance to see what they are doing last Saturday. They can see everything! We even zoomed in on a song book and could almost read the words. It was amazing. I am going to try and get the surgery date straightened out and will let you know what I get. Love you all. Grandma

I had my MRI. That is a very scary thing to do. It is like the space age. A big round hole and they slide you into it and take pictures of whatever they want of your body. I kept my eyes closed the whole time and sang Primary songs. My friend said it is so close that it is like you are in a coffin. I don't know because as I said I kept my eyes closed. There was a fan so it didn't feel so close. I will take the images to the doctor next Friday and then we will go from there. I really want to get this over with. Maybe I can make rugs again. That would be nice.

It seems like a long time since I have seen all of you but I know it has only been a month. We are going to Logan's birthday party tomorrow. Love you all, Grandma

No one called to tell me about this little new grandbaby but when I checked the Secrists on Buddy's blog, there he was. Ryan West Secrist, born 22 Jan 2009, 8 lbs. 0oz., 19 in long. We have a new blogger in the family. Rachelle just emailed me and gave me the link to her blog. That is very cool. I think that Taani had her baby but have not heard anything yet. Will let you know as soon as I hear. This has been a very nice month. We got together with our family a couple of times for dinner and celebrating birthdays. It was fun. Now I am looking at a difficult couple of months. I am going to have a shoulder replacement. The doctor said I just wore out the other one. If I could tell you one thing to do it would be to really take your calcium. I wish I had done that when I was your ages. Then maybe I would not have worn out my shoulder. Love you all, Grandma

We had such a fun Christmas Party. Wish everyone could have been there. I felt so bad that I couldn't give everyone a "Harrison Christmas" story. I put so many pictures in it that it took almost a cartridge of ink for each book but Buddy took my Publisher files and he is going to make a PDF file for anyone who wants it. You can print a copy from that. He also made a CD of all our Christmas' over the years. Maybe he will give you a copy of that also if you ask him, really nicely.

We have arrived at the New Year, it will be here in a few days. It is my wish for all of you that you will have Heavenly Father's choicest blessings throughout the year. You already have Grandpa's and my love. I hope we have a chance to see all of you this next year. Love ya, Grandma

I just wanted to tell you that I am most grateful for such a good family. If any of you have been following Kevin's emails you know what a good job he is doing and that he loves his mission. Many of you have trials that you are facing. I know Heavenly Father loves you because as I pray and add your names to the temple prayer rolls, I feel his love for you. If I could, I would remove all these trials but then you would not have the opportunity to show Heavenly Father how, because of your faith, that you can handle whatever it is. Bryanna had her baby

Last Tues., Oct 21, Bryanna had a little boy, Llayton Lee. He was 7 lbs.8 oz. and was 21" long. I am so glad that he is finally here and that Bryanna is fine. As you will notice, this makes 47 for us. As soon as I get a picture I will share with all of you.

Checking in!!

I can't believe this month is halfway through. Last week was Conference. To me it was a scary yet hopeful conference. It was a wonderful conference in that I did receive a witness that Pres. Monson was truly a prophet of God. We were talking at the temple last Thurs. and there were 3 sisters that had the same feeling. One of them said it was as if it just jumped out of the TV at them. Of course I know the sucession in the church but it is always nice to receive that testimony.

We were up at Uncle Waynes for lunch and Elise took me in and showed me Facebook. I can't believe all of you that have a space there. Everyone is so THERE all the time. Lise wanted to put me on it but I don't have the time to constantly be checking and putting things on so I said I would wait a little while. Aunt Becky said I should do it because then I would know what was going on with all of you. I also learned that Janellie has a blog so will add that link to our group.

Halloween will soon be here but our pumpkins didn''t turn out very good this year and Grandpa pulled them all out. We will try again next year.

Grandma did a not so smart thing

Last week I pushed a button that said "restore". DO NOT EVER PUSH A BUTTON THAT SAYS "RESTORE". It restored me to factory default which means I lost all my programs and have really had a bad time getting my email working again. I think I finally got my email back this morning. I could recieve but I could not email out. I have been a really frustrated person. Other than that we have been doing fine. Grandpa is walking much better now. In fact he has not walked this good in years, but it still hurts him. I am really a bad blogger. I don't have any pictures and I never get around to updating anything but I will try to do better. Janelle looked so good when she got home and she can talk in Korean really well. I asked her how long it took for her to catch on to the language and she said it was about 6 mos. Now she is up at the "Y". Just wanted to let you know why you have not got any answers to any emails. I hope I am all straightened around now.

Grandpa is now wearing shoes!!!!

I thought it was about time to update all of you and let you know that Grandpa is almost in shoes. He has a pair of Sunday shoes that are really good. He says they are almost as good as the boot. Now he just needs to get a pair of white shoes for the temple. That is not easy to do.

We are not living a really exciting life right now. We haven't been anywhere this summer or seen much of anything. We enjoyed seeing Brandon and Ali and their boys (those are the cutest boys). We enjoyed having Becky and her family for an afternoon. Hopefully when Grandpa gets around a little better we can do a little more. We love you all and are glad that you've had a nice summer (from what we've heard anyway). Right now the exciting thing is that Janelle will be home the first part of Sept but not for long as she is registered at BYU for the fall semester and will be late getting there.

Grandpa's Miracle

We went in to have Grandpa's foot checked and they took an Xray. When the doctor came in he said, "It is fully fused!" He said he had to look twice at the Xray and then he checked to see if he had the right patient. Sure enough, it is fully fused and he is now in a walking cast. It is really tender but neither one of us could believe that it had healed so quickly. Dr. Merkel said he had only one other patient that had healed that quickly. Is that a miracle or what?

Grandpa had told the temple that his goal was to come back to the temple after it was closed. It will be open again on Aug. 4 and I do believe that he will be back. I guess Heavenly Father can really do it!!!

Grandpa's Surgery

Grandpa's surgery went really well. He is home and has to keep his foot elevated above his heart for 5 days. He has not been in any pain (the nerve block wore off last night but the doctor said to start his pain meds yesterday before he needed them so they would get in his system and would keep the pain down.) He is bored stiff but doing fine.

On Monday night, at 2 minutes before midnight, Rachelle had a little boy, Jake Anthone Larson. I have not had a chance to go see him because I could not leave Grandpa but his little pictures are so cute.

This has been a busy few days. Tonight Spencer graduates from Yucaipa High School and tomorrow nite Brandy graduates from Banning High School. Our family is moving right along.

Grandpa has his surgery date

Grandpa will have his surgery on his foot on June 3. He will have to keep his foot elevated above his heart for 5 days. Then it will be 14 weeks before he can put weight on it. After 14 weeks he will have a walking cast. I don't think this is going to be a very good summer for him. He had been planning to be up in a week or so. The doctor said that he felt good about this procedure, that he had done many before and he felt everything would be fine (but not painfree). I am glad we held out for Dr. Merkle. I feel really good about him, also I have had his name along with Grampa's, in the temple for the last month. Thought you all would like to know how things are with us. Love ya all. Grandma

I thought all of you might be interested in an email I just got:
"good morning all!
In case you haven't heard yet, Spencer went to CIF in swimming the 200 medley relay, and also the 100 yd. breast stroke. He was seeded 14th in breast stroke, and came in over all in 9th place. (he actually came in about 6th over all, but because he was in the 2nd heat, 9th was the best he could do, they don't take the times of the other heats.) Weird, I know. His time was 1:00.48. For those of you who don't know the time reading, that's about one minute to swim 4 lengths of the pool. His high school also won the CIF meet! This means he gets a gold champion ring (he really wanted one of these.) We are very happy and proud of him! He said he is glad he has competed for the last time in swim. (I guess he won't be training for the olimpics). His relay also did very well, but I forgot what place they came in. (OPPS) I just thought I'd let everyone know how he did at CIF.

Here are a couple of pictures of Marc and his airplane. Last Sunday we went to the airport to see him off. (He came in on Fri. night.) It was so much fun to see him and watch him fly. That plane is not very big and it took my breath away when he took off and soared into the sky. I know how wonderful it feels to be up there.

We recieved word yesterday that Stephie had her baby, little Landon Lundblad. She came home today. Terrie says he looks just like the other two boys. It will be fun to see him.

We should know by the end of the week when Grandpa's surgery will take place. It has taken awhile to get it set up and we decided to pay for the medication ourselves so there is no problem now with going ahead. It will be a long summer.

I promise I will do better with this blog. Either I don't have a picture to show you or no news but I will not take so long next time. Love ya all, Grandma

Just thought I would let you all know that Trevor and Roxanne have a blog now. It is an interesting one. Easter passed me by this year. I didn't go anywhere. I had a really bad cold. Grandpa is the same except we got a call the other day that told him he could call to schedule an operation as soon as he got a walker. He called this morning and is getting one delivered on Monday so he should be able to schedule one then. I'll let you know more later. Love ya.

New Great Grandbaby

We just received a phone call from Becky this morning. David and Tiffany have a new baby. Dawson Logan Fawcett. 7lbs., 20 inches long. Wish I had a picture to put on for you.

Everything is kind of the same with us. We are still waiting for word about Grandpa's foot. We have been refered to an ankle specialist. He seems nice enough and took time to explain what will have to be done, but no word on WHEN!!!!! Those of you who think Socialized Medicine would be better had better think again. It takes YEARS instead of MONTHS so I guess we are better off the way it works now but I am getting really anxious for it to be over.

We went down to Buddy and Debi's house last Tues. Taani and Tristen are home for the week so we got to visit with them for a while. It was good to see them and their little ones. Have a good week. Talk to you later. Grandma

Hope you all had a fun Valentine day. Yesterday we had Sam and Mellissa's baby blessed and every one came to our house afterwards. It was too bad that Amy had her baby blessed also so Aunt Kathy and her family were in Rancho Cucamonga for that blessing. It was really fun though, because all the Beaumont boys came by and threw a football around in our back yard. Grandpa said it was a different crowd than what we had expected but I think it was probably more fun. Today I am wiped out but not as sore as I thought I'd be. Grandpa had his second opinion and sure enough...they will have to break the bone. We are just waiting now for a date for his surgery. I'll let you know when that will be. Love ya all.

I have just finished watching the funeral of Pres. Hinckley. Ever since I have been in the church I have known of and have heard his teachings and testimony in the conferences of the church. It is hard to realize that he is gone. I shall miss him. He was such a good prophet. Grandma

Sam and Mellissa have a new baby girl

I just found out that Sam and Mellissa's baby was born on Jan. 17. Little Kayla Gardner. 7 lbs. 9 oz. I wish I could see her and give her a snuggle. Kyle Harrison is recieving the Priesthood tomorrow so we will be going down there for his ordination. What a busy family we have. Nothing new about Grandpa yet. We need to get authorization for the second opinion. I think the doctor is chicken, myself, but better safe than sorry, I guess. It sure takes a long time to get anything done. Tonight we will be going out to dinner for our Anniversary, 57 years. Can you believe that!!!!! Love you all.

Just wanted to let you know that we are getting a second opinion on Grandpa's foot. It seems it is worse than we thought. They think they will have to break the bone and reset it in order to straighten it out. I am not looking forward to that and neither is Grandpa. Other than that we are doing fine and trying to adust to a new year. It is almost the middle of January. How did it get here so fast???? Love ya, Grandma

Christmas Is Over

Grandpa and I crashed after our Christmas Party on Friday Night. It was so nice to see everyone. It seems like that is the only time we get everyone (or as close as we can get) together. My favorite was the nativity and I think this nativity was the best. Especially that great big shepherd that showed up. From what we have heard all of you had great Christmas', even our missionaries. I am so proud of all of you.

They wouldn't let Grandpa take a MRI, so now he is set for a CT Scan on Dec. 18. From that he will see the doctor and set up a time for the surgery. I am doing fine and am busy trying to finish the story for our Christmas Party. Hope to see as many of you as possible. I love you all, Grandma

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. We enjoyed the day at Uncle Buddy's house with his family. Taani and Ryan came over from Arizona. On Sunday before we had another Dinner with Uncle Wayne and his family. We just can't get to see everyone. Here is the update on Grandpa. He has an appointment to get an MRI on his foot this next Thurs. and then he will be able to get with the doctor and set up a time for the surgery. We will have to wait and see. I"ll let you know what happens.

I know many of you are interested in what is happening to Grandpa. We went to the doctor the other day and had him look at Grandpa's foot. He will have to have another surgery like the one he had done 11 yrs. ago. We don't know when as yet but I will let you know as soon as we find out. The doctor asked if we were up to it. I don't know as we are 11 yrs. older but it has to be done or he wont be able to walk soon. So we will just have to be up to it. Love you all

Our lives do not change

Our lives are not changing much. We just continue to work in the Temple and Family History Centure. Grandpa works in his garden every day. He has got his winter garden all planted. Kyle came to spend the evening a week ago while his parents went to the temple and we spent the evening watching Star Wars. I still love it. We had some more pumpkin pickers yesterday as you can see below.

Last Sunday, after conference, a group of "pumpkin pickers" came over and got some pumpkins. After they left we sat around the fire pit in the back yard and talked. About the time Buddy and Debi decided to go home here came Wayne and Terrie and we talked some more. I love conference. Not only is it so good to hear all the talks but afterwards we get to see some of our family. What a neat day!!!

Here are some pictures of the pumpkins Grandpa has in his garden. If any of you in the area would like to have some (there are about 8-10) please come and get them. Grandpa would be so happy to see them go.

I have been doing genealogy work this past couple of weeks. Also I have been tracking the different temple districts that are starting the New Family Search where you clear names on the internet. Our temple president says he thinks it will be after the first of the year before our temple will be using it. It will be interesting.

Grandpa and I spent a really delightful Sunday this last week as we watched an old video of the last Dance Festival that was held in our area (1985). No one seems to remember and now they have asked that we have one in our area next year. Many stakes are not participating because they do not know what a really neat thing it is. So far, only 15 stakes are participating. In 1985 we had 79 stakes at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. That was 15,000 youth. It was a breathtaking sight. It is too bad a whole generation has forgotten.

This has been a super busy week. Nothing worth blogging about though. I have just gone through all your blogs and caught up on all your activities and I really like this blogging thing. I am however, very careful of who I tell that I have a "blog". After all I am an old person and my friends do not really understand all of this new technology. I mentioned it once and got some really strange looks. Oh well............ I am amazed at what some of you are doing with your blogs. I love the music and the special effects. It is so cool. Aunt Kathy said last week she went in and copied everyone's blog to send to Janelle. She printed them all out and it cost her $8.00 to send it to Korea. I don't think she will be doing that very many times. I love you all!

It is so fun to see all you are doing and be able to COMMUNICATE with each other and share in your joys and sorrows. We worked at the temple yesterday and Grandpa and I were wiped out so all I did was check and read all the new stuff. I am proud of Britton. She did it on her own with no help. It seems really easy once you figure it out.
Some of you might not know that Aunt Kathy is our supervisor in the temple on Thurs. morn. Yesterday, at the end of the day, she came by and was rolling her shoulders and stretching her neck and she said she had never understood, until yesterday, why we complained so much about being tired. She was exhausted. It is just that way, but we always go back the next week for more because we love it.
I have to get going and start on the Sunday programs but wanted to tell you all that I love you. I got some pictures from Aunt Kathy of Janelle in Korea. I'll try to get those up so you can see her. Talk to you later!

Dear Family,
I have been thinking about this blog thing and have decided that if we can get it together we could have a really neat reunion going. I will try to keep it updated and if the rest of you will create your own blog and send me the link we can create a good thing. I know that most of you are so computer savvy that that won't really be hard at all. You can post your pictures and tell about what is happening in your life and it will be much easier for all of us to share our lives with each other. Grandpa and I are doing fine. We have been busy as always but we do not move as fast as the rest of you. Grandpa gets out early in the morning and takes care of his garden before it gets too hot. Then he is about done for the day. His foot is really bad and we hope that after the first of the year he can get it taken care of. That will probably mean surgery like they did last time.
I spend a lot of time on the computer. The church has so many programs they are working on and I love to go into different blogs and check on what they are doing. Soon I will have to start the Christmas family story and now I have this Harrison blog to keep up but it is more fun than sitting and watching TV.
I hope this works. It is a completely different thing than I learned before. We love you all and I am waiting to hear what you think of this idea.
